River City Wellness and Acupuncture, in Louisville, Kentucky, is excited to announce that they are now offering innovative Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment, commonly referred to as SAAT, at their Eastpoint Parkway location. The local wellness clinic has been in the business of improving the lives of Louisville citizens through a holistic approach to medicine since 2016. The team of licensed acupuncturists offers acupuncture, cupping, moxabustion, herbal therapy, shiatsu and tuina massage, and lifestyle recommendations to help bring peace, clarity, and healing to their clients. And now, allergy sufferers in Louisville and the surrounding area can visit River City Wellness and Acupuncture to receive Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) for allergy relief.Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment is a powerful technology that was recently introduced to the holistic medicine field. It's a technique that uses simple, but specialized, acupuncture to treat allergy symptoms. When compared to other treatments, SAAT is proven to provide the longest relief from allergies with some symptoms being reduced as much as 95%. SAAT involves a single acupuncture needle that is placed in the ear and can treat allergies related to a variety of foods including: gluten/wheat and soy, dairy and eggs, sugar, meats, nuts, fruits and vegetables, shellfish, preservatives and environmental factors such as: animal dander, dust, mold and pollen, chemicals, trees, grasses and weeds. Clinical experience is also showing a dramatic improvement for those suffering from Alpha-gal which is an allergy to red meat often developed after a Lone Star tick bite.
At River City Wellness and Acupuncture, allergy sufferers looking for relief will go through a two-step process during SAAT. The first step involves identifying the allergen itself through allergy testing or the process of elimination. Allergy testing is done using bio-energetic testing that helps to identify environmental or food allergies. Food allergies can also be identified using the process of elimination which involves a food diary and an elimination diet. Once the allergen is identified, the second step of treatment involves the licensed acupuncturist locating the reactive point in the ear where the acupuncture needle will be placed. Each needle treats a specific allergen and up to 3 or 4 different allergens can be treated in a single visit. The needles are covered with a medical bandage, often going unnoticed by others, and worn for three weeks.
With over 50 million allergy sufferers in America alone, treatments such as SAAT can be completely life-changing. This is exactly what River City Wellness and Acupuncture hope to bring to the people of Louisville which is the 6th highest-ranking city in the country for environmental allergens. When allergies can sometimes be fatal, it's important to find a treatment that works. SAAT is a non-invasive, completely chemical-free approach to allergy treatment that is proven to work.
Adding Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) to the list of services offered by River City Wellness and Acupuncture should come as no surprise to those who are familiar with the wellness clinic. Owner, operator, and licensed acupuncturist, Lindsay Matthews, M.Ac.O.M, L.Ac, has been bridging the gap between Eastern and Western medicine since starting her career in 2008. Acupuncture itself is what got Lindsay Matthews interested in becoming a healthcare practitioner and is still the holistic approach that River City Wellness and Acupuncture focus on within the practice. Acupuncture is the process of inserting fine needles into specific areas of the body in order to rebalance the body's energy flow and restore health. The process of getting acupuncture is almost painless as the needles are inserted in points throughout the body where they rest for anywhere from 30-40 minutes. Some of the benefits of acupuncture include pain relief and an overall improvement in wellbeing.
Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) employs the use of acupuncture needles, where one is inserted within the ear, to bring allergy relief to those who suffer from food and environmental allergies. Due to the similarities among acupuncture and SAAT, it only made sense that Lindsay would begin to offer SAAT at her wellness clinic when so many people in Louisville, and surrounding areas, are affected by allergies. Additional services offered at River City Wellness and Acupuncture include:
Cupping is one of the most ancient methods of Chinese medicine and has recently been Westernized. Cupping is done by warming air within a glass cup and placing the cup on certain parts of the body. As the cup makes contact with the skin, it stimulates the skin to open pores which then encourages blood flow, removes obstructions, and draws out toxins. Cupping can help with pain relief, respiratory or GI conditions, arthritis, colds, cases of flu, stress, and sore muscles. (It is important to note that cupping does leave temporary marks on the body due to the suction. The marks may turn red or purple and will typically last for 1-2 days.)
Moxabustion is an expansion of acupuncture therapy that involves burning herbs at certain acupuncture points. The herb, Mugwort, is well-known amongst various cultures for its healing properties and is dried then burned atop the acupuncture needles. Moxabustion, often referred to as moxa, is a treatment that nourishes, warms, and energizes the body while also promoting healthy circulation. There are a variety of forms of moxa that can be used during a healing therapy session. Direct moxa and warming needle moxa are two of many varieties offered at River City Wellness and Acupuncture.
Herbal therapy is one of the main tenets that Traditional Chinese medicine relies on for both disease treatment and prevention. Plans, animals, and minerals are all chosen based on their ability to normalize bodily energy that may be unbalanced. At River City Wellness and Acupuncture, herbal therapy formulas are specially prepared using classical and modern-day approaches and come in pill or capsule form for ease of use.
Lifestyle recommendations are another service offered at River City Wellness and Acupuncture for those looking to achieve complete balance in their lives. From the foods we eat to the exercise we get and the mental space we hold onto through the day, all these aspects contribute to overall health. At River City Wellness and Acupuncture, they will work with anyone interested in finding ways to break old habits, create new, healthy ones, and restore overall wellbeing.
Shiatsu and Tuina massage originated in Japan and China, respectively, and both work with the body's natural ability to heal itself. Through Shiatsu, gentle pressure is applied to the meridians of the body. Tuina massage range from light to deep tissue work and is more similar to a Western massage. Both massage therapies offered at River City Wellness and Acupuncture are combined with acupuncture treatment culminating in a deeply relaxing and beneficial experience.
At River City Wellness and Acupuncture, overall mental and physical wellbeing is the main goal of each session with every patient. Through a variety of Eastern medicine treatments that have been modernized with a Westernized tough, the staff at River City Wellness and Acupuncture works with patients to achieve complete health. The variety of services offered can help relieve pain, respiratory issues, fatigue, headache, stress, and gastrointestinal issues. About Lindsay Matthews, M.Ac.O.M, L.Ac
Lindsay Matthew's career as a licensed acupuncturist started in Atlanta, Georgia while she was attending a liberal arts college for her undergraduate studies. Once she graduated, Lindsay made her way to Maui, Hawaii where she relished in the calming and healing temperament of the islands and received her first acupuncture treatment after a minor neck injury. Within minutes of her first acupuncture treatment, Lindsay felt the energies within her body shift and she immediately knew she had found her calling. After her treatment was over, she started her own journey becoming a professional healer in the art of acupuncture. Since that fateful day, Lindsay has gone on to receive her Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and has become nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is certified in the state of Kentucky, as well as in Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment, and continues her studies in the Certificate Program of Advanced Japanese Acupuncture Techniques.
