European Splendor Expands European Product Lines, And Celebrates Third Anniversary of Frankfort Avenue Location

September 18, 2019 - European Splendor, a family-owned retailer specializing in European furniture, home accessories and unique gifts based in Louisville, Kentucky, is celebrating its third anniversary on Frankfort Avenue. In honor of this anniversary, the store will be offering 20-50% discounts on in-store items starting Tuesday, September 17th through Saturday, September 21st. Shoppers can register for special giveaways all week leading up to the end of the sale on Saturday when winners will be announced. A special evening celebration will take place on Friday, September 20th with extended hours from 6-9pm.

European Splendor is also expanding its unique European product lines with a recent introduction of hand-crafted leather aprons imported directly from the Netherlands. European Splendor's leather aprons are made from the highest quality cow leather, are supple in texture, and available in many colors and styles, perfectly suited for anyone who loves to entertain in style.

European Splendor is well known for their solid wood, hand-crafted, and directly imported European furniture. For owners Susan and Matt Straub, the idea of selling European Furniture first came to life while spending three years living in Europe. "We had furniture made for our own home and immediately recognized the superior craftsmanship as well as the centuries old techniques of our supplier, and we knew we could sell it in America." That dream came to life nearly 19 years ago when the owners founded European Splendor late in the year 2000 and began selling European furniture.

Since then, with their passion for Europe, their business has grown from furniture to many unique and interesting European product lines including Polish pottery, Bohemia crystal, French soaps and lotions, French linens, leather aprons from Holland, German Christmas decorations, and much more. When asked what sets them apart, they noted, "Living in Europe, as well as having made countless European trips, has afforded us the opportunity to connect with many unique European suppliers. For nearly two decades we have maintained our relationship with the same furniture craftsmen, and we have since been fortunate enough to connect with and represent many other unique European craftspeople."

European Splendor's retail store is located in the historic Clifton neighborhood, on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. Having been a part of the Frankfort Avenue community for 3 years, Susan and Matt Straub have a special fondness for the neighborhood's rich history, with buildings like theirs dating back to the late 1800s. What's more, Frankfort Avenue seems to have been reborn as of late. "It's a great place to dine and shop, and we are thrilled to be a part of its renaissance," said the couple.
