Guests are encouraged to take part in activates such as visiting Wat Karon (Karon Temple), located just 500m from the beach in Karon Centre. Founded in 1895, which went through major renovation including the addition of a three-story building that host's monk's dormitories, prayer hall and a large kitchen in which food is prepared for the attendants at regular religious ceremonies. The ordination hall is set in a superbly decorated edifice surrounded by two Naga statues (Thai mythological snake).

Also, just a short distance from Phoenix Hotel Karon Beach sits Karon Park. The park is mostly fitness oriented, providing several simplified gym machines. There is a running track that runs along the lakeside, a lot of which is shaded by trees.
