Anglo Irish Bank Corporation (I.O.M.) P.L.C. has boosted rates on its award winning Privilege account range. The Privilege range is popular with many investors for its combination of competitive rates, gross interest, and its availability in a variety of currencies. The new higher rates, which come into effect immediately, mean that Anglo’s flagship 7 Day notice account now pays 4.75%, for deposits in sterling (increased from 4.60%).
Leading expatriate magazine, Nexus, recently voted Anglo winner in five out of five international deposit taking categories in its 2006 Best Banks for Expats Awards. Anglo topped the poll for Best Sterling Instant Access Account, Best Sterling Notice Account, Best US Dollar Account, and Best Euro Account, confirming that Anglo has consistently offered the best deposit interest rates during 2005. Anglo was also named Best Offshore Bank for Expats.
Commenting on the move, James Horrigan, Head of Private Client Services at Anglo, said: “ This is good news for savers, especially Expats looking for international deposit accounts which pay interest gross. Our new 7 Day sterling rate is one of the most competitive available anywhere. Our track record, plus independent endorsement from Nexus and others, shows that investors can trust Anglo Irish to offer a good deal on a consistent basis.”
Anglo commented that it expects high demand for the new rates, and has recently simplified its account opening process to make it faster and more streamlined. All Anglo accounts are available to pay interest gross, and are available with a minimum balance of 5,000 in all major currencies.
