51Degrees welcomes two new senior appointments to its leadership.

51Degrees is delighted to announce two new senior appointments to its leadership team as the company heads into an exciting new phase of expansion. Richard Smith joins as Head of Sales and Chris Knight joins as Head of IT and Projects. Having settled into their trendy new offices in Reading's town centre , 51Degrees is now in the process of transitioning from start-up to scale-up, positioning and preparing for significant growth as we head into the next decade.

Richard Smith brings with him circa 12 years of Technical Sales and Management experience, much of it gained from the telecommunications industry. Having come from Sangoma, another market leader but in Open Source telephony, Richard achieved substantial revenue growth in his region despite a highly competitive marketplace. Prior to this he successfully founded and latterly sold his Telecoms Reseller business. Richard will play a leading role in delivering our strategic objectives for growth into new markets.

Regarding his new position at the company Richard Smith comments, "I am excited to join this innovative company to lead the sales effort for its Device Detection product. 51Degrees has become a market leader in the industry and over the next few months I'll be working with the whole team to reach new customers and verticals."

Chris Knight has a wealth of experience in both Technical Engineering and Senior Management positions spanning a range of industries from education ICT to security and wireless for companies big and small. With experience from Purdicom, a wireless and security distributer, Chris helped to facilitate the company's production over the years, ensuring that the staff and systems were capable of supporting the growth the company was experiencing. Chris brings with him valuable knowledge and the capability to boost production within the technical team.

Chris explains, "51Degrees has a great team of people who work hard to push the boundary of what's possible in this industry. I'm looking forward to working with them to help develop the company's advancement."
