Empty World 3 (www.depeche-mode.com), the worlds #1 Depeche Mode fan site, they are currently churning out exclusive material and competitions at a staggering rate. "And now, we feel, we've topped ourselves once again," says Empty World 3 editor, Peter2. In collaboration with EMI Denmark, Empty World 3 is giving four fans the chance to meet the band, backstage before their forthcoming sold-out show at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 25.All they have to do is write a short story on why they should be picked, and a jury consisting of people from Empty World 3 and EMI will pick the best of the bunch.
"This latest scoop is the icing on our cake, as we're in the midst of our busiest period to date. With Depeche Mode's "Playing The Angel" and subsequent tour, we've seen Depeche Mode grow stronger in the public eye by the minute. Never ones to miss a step, we've been right there along with them, scoring a host of exclusives," explains Peter2.
In recent months they have interviewed Depeche Mode drummer Christian Eigner, Playing The Angel producer Ben Hillier, Playing The Angel programmer Dave McCracken, as well as remixers DJ Dan, Lexicon Avenue, Bitstream (yet to be published) and legendary producer/collaborator Gareth Jones (yet to be published); and reported live from the band's press conferences. And they are far from done yet!
"Our Touring The Angel coverage has broken our visitor records again and again, and we've had to move to a new server to keep up with demand, as our old server gave in when demand became too great. Every time Depeche Mode plays you will find the setlist for the show on the site within minutes of the final encore having finished, thanks to our devoted visitors sending in emails and text messages - some times as the show is happening," says Peter2.
Empty World 3 is currently pushing 14,000 registered users, and is averaging over 50,000 unique visits per week.
