Ashland, OR (04/24/2019)–Massif®, the leader in flame-resistant apparel for the U.S. Military and those working in the world's most challenging environments, announces that NAVAIR has approved their Hellman Combat Pant and Advanced Quarter Zip Combat Shirt.Massif believes in outfitting women and men with the best in safe, comfortable, dependable, high-quality tactical apparel, and continues to garner NAVAIR approval with their gear. They build the Hellman Combat Pant with Sigma 4 Star™ fabric that incorporates DuPont™ Nomex® and DuPont™ Kevlar® fibers. The pant can be worn with or without the Crye Precision AirFlex™ Knee Pads. Massif integrated a horizontal knee pad adjustment at the back of the knee for a customized fit which affords users excellent joint protection without sacrificing performance. Additionally, Massif designed a performance gusset along with a plethora of strategic pockets including their Patent Pending Massif Dual-Entry Aviator pocket.
Charles Sexton, Senior Government Sales, and Business Development Manager had the following to say about the approvals. "Massif worked diligently with the aircrew communities within multiple aviation platforms, to address a major need for better flame-resistant flight equipment which could ultimately improve performance and minimize the risk of injuries. Comfort levels, heat stress mitigation, and knee injuries were high priority concerns Massif was asked to address within this process. The addition of these two items to the State-of-the-Art (SOA) list along with our approved 2-piece flight suit gives users the versatility to operate more effectively in the field. This is another step in the right direction, shifting the end user out of the legacy 1-piece flight suit and into innovative gear that will protect no matter the environment or consequences."
The Advanced Quarter Zip Combat Shirt (AQZ), is a progressive generational product based on the wildly successful Massif Army Combat Shirt (ACS). Massif took the foundation of the ACS and made next-gen enhancements integrating a quarter zip for customizable neck comfort, improving the fit, and incorporating the flexibility of internal elbow pad pockets which still feature external elbow abrasion resistant SuperFabric® guard plates making the AQZ a must have in your apparel arsenal for nearly every scenario. Although this approval covers the USN and USMC specifically, the AQZ is quickly finding its way throughout the DoD. It is available in a number of colors/prints (Sage Green, Tan, Black, OD Green, and OCP) and fit options for both men and women.
"We greatly appreciate the tremendous support of the awesome men and women of the USN who provided the feedback and testing time to ensure our latest design efforts provide maximum results for their day-to-day application. We are honored and inspired to continue creating the most advanced gear to protect those who protect us," said Darci Knobel, V.P. of Customer Experience at Massif.
Celebrating their twentieth year of business, Massif continues to innovate and perfect flame-resistant gear from the yarn on up to finished gear protecting millions of men and women across the globe. The Hellman Combat Pant and Advanced Quarter Zip Combat Shirt, when mixed and matched with their revolutionary NAVAIR approved 2-Piece Flight Suit, give the user the unique ability to personalize and customize their fit for each individual mission.
