Wayne Brothers Companies Recipient of Two Prestigious Safety Awards

Wayne Brothers Companies was awarded the SC Chamber Safety Award and ABC'S Platinum STEP Award in March. Both awards highlight Wayne Brothers' dedication to safety. These recent awards are a clear indication of the company safely exceeding expectations. The Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABC) regularly honors contracting and building companies throughout the Carolinas for their dedication to safety excellence. In 1989, ABC created the Safety Training Evaluation Program (STEP) awards system, awarding companies for their safety processes and policies spanning 20 key components. The award is broken down into five tiers, Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze, based on how well the company has performed on the safety components.

This past month, Wayne Brother's Safety Supervisor, Charlie Lilly, accepted the Platinum STEP award on behalf of Wayne Brothers. Only those companies that are 330 percent safer than Bureau of Labor Statistics averages are awarded Platinum STEP status. It is the second time the company received the ABC Platinum Safety STEP Award, which it also earned in 2017 after several years as a Gold Safety STEP Award recipient.

Also, in March, Wayne Brothers announced acceptance of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce safety award. This award is presented to companies operating in South Carolina who had successful safety records for the entire 2018 calendar year. The award uses the company's Lost Workday Case Rate to determine overall safety, and Wayne Brothers had an exemplary safety record. "Since July 9th,2018 we have worked 846,134 hours without a Lost Time accident. It takes everyone participating in hazard recognition and correction techniques to make this possible." Jason Sisk, Wayne Brothers Safety Director.

These awards join a growing list of awards for safety and excellence Wayne Brothers has received over the past 31 years.
