ConsuNova Inc. has been selected by the Ministry of Defense (MOD), United Kingdom, for certification evaluations for PROTECTOR RG Mk1

ConsuNova Inc. has been selected by the Ministry of Defense (MOD), United Kingdom, as the Trusted Customer Representative to support all aspects of Software and Complex Electronic Hardware certification evaluations for PROTECTOR RG Mk1. ConsuNova support will include Avionics Certification services by managed team of Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Safety, and Certification experts to the UAS Type Airworthiness Authority (TAA), their Engineering Authority and Safety Leads for the PROTECTOR UAS.

For the next three years, ConsuNova will be the exclusive U.S. based company to collaborate with Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) Unmanned Air Systems Team providing wide range of DO-178C Software Compliance support as well as DO-254 Complex Electronic Hardware Compliance. ConsuNova team will also support Safety Evaluations, ARP-4761, at various levels (UAS, Avionics Systems and Sub-system).

UAS Team at DE&S adds "The UK MoD is pleased to be working with ConsuNova on the PROTECTOR Programme. Their expertise and experience in Software development will help deliver into service a key capability for the Royal Air Force."

More than eight ConsuNova's FAA DER team and experts will support the DE&S for PROTECTOR UAS Type Airworthiness Authority by performing technical audits and evaluations, safety assessments and report findings and aid understanding of safety and airworthiness requirements to enable the UAST to assess compliance to certification and design standards.

ConsuNova was down-selected from a competitive tender process due to its experience, quality, broad knowledge in Avionics Certification, team size, and organizational readiness to support large compliance projects in the UAS/UAV market. ConsuNova's commitment to quality, avionics certification expertise in UAS, MIL/Aero and commercial development and associated reputation allowed them to offer a turn-key solution to the UK MOD for this project and more.
