MoloLamken Receives Seventh Circuit Bar Association's Justice John Paul Stevens Pro Bono and Public Service Award

(New York, May 24, 2018) – The national litigation boutique MoloLamken LLP is the recipient of the 2018 Justice John Paul Stevens Law Firm Pro Bono Award from the Seventh Circuit Bar Association. MoloLamken Partner Gerald Meyer accepted the award at the Association's annual dinner held on May 1 in Chicago and attended by United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Elena Kagan, many members of the federal judiciary, and leading lawyers from Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Journalist Jeffrey Toobin was the evening's keynote speaker.

The award recognizes the firm's outstanding pro bono work in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In 2017, MoloLamken undertook twelve pro bono appellate appointments in the Seventh Circuit, as well as other pro bono work in the trial courts. Eight of the firm's pro bono matters involved direct criminal appeals, an area most in need of volunteers, while the others involved issues of state prisoner habeas corpus, civil rights, and disability. In total, the firm contributed on average more than 100 pro bono hours per lawyer throughout the year.
