With Valentine’s Day around the corner, love lorn ladies will want to know how to get into their man’s heart. Manchester nutritionist, Elizabeth Harfleet shows that the best way, really is through his stomach!According to Elizabeth who has been practising as a nutritionist since 2000, a diet rich in fruit and vegetables does wonders for your love life.
“Fresh fruits and vegetables are unrivalled in their abilities to energise the body and support the cardiovascular system, factors which came to light during a study which showed that Vegetarians may have more active love lives than their meat eating friends!”
Foods which are reputed to have aphrodisiac benefits include chocolate, oysters (which are rich in Zinc and important to the male reproductive system), asparagus, celery, pine nuts and honey. However eating them all at once is more likely to give you a stomach ache than to send your heart rate soaring.
Conversely, if you want love on the menu this Valentine’s try not to serve up processed foods that are high in fat and sugar. This is because a diet consisting of largely processed, high fat, high sugar foods can ultimately lead to disappointment at bedtime.
