Splendid Bee, Formerly Known as The Soap Makery, Launches New Website and Online Store Offering All-Natural, Handmade Soaps and Other Beeswax Creations

November 30, 2017 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Splendid Bee, formerly known as The Soap Makery, is excited to announce the launch of a new website and online store. The website is the first online presence that Splendid Bee has had since undergoing a name change and rebranding. The company offers a variety of all-natural, handmade soaps and other creations made from beeswax. Along with providing customers with the option to purchase online, Splendid Bee's new website also features information about Splendid Bee owner and soap maker - Lisa Hagan, a calendar of events that Splendid Bee will be attending, and more.

Splendid Bee Natural Soaps was founded in 2001 as a side project of the owner, Lisa Hagan, at a time when she was in need of a creative outlet. Growing up on a small farm in Southern Kentucky, Lisa was always intrigued by the ideals of sustainability and self-reliance. Her father was a bee-keeper and both of her grandmothers made soap during the Great Depression. While raising three young kids at home, Lisa felt the need for a creative outlet. She contacted one of her cousins who had learned soapmaking from a grandmother and this was the beginning of Lisa's passion for making soap. Over 15 years later Splendid Bee is now offering all-natural handmade soaps and other beeswax creations online and at regional craft fairs in and around Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee.

In addition to all-natural handmade bars of soap in a wide variety of scents and variations including: Lavender Swirl, Kentucky Mint Julep, Oatmeal & Honey, Tea Tree, Patchouli, and Warm Cinnamon, just to name a few, Splendid Bee also offers soap-filled loofahs in 5 scents: Lavender, Lemongrass, Oatmeal & Honey, Kentucky Mint Julep, and Unscented. Other popular items available in the online store are the handmade beeswax luminaries and Naked Loaf bulk buying option for soap lovers.

Splendid Bee's luminaries are made from 100% pure beeswax and locally sourced, pressed flowers. Lisa dips a collapsible mold repeatedly into beeswax until it obtains the correct thickness. She then presses the flower design into the luminary and dips the luminary a final time to seal the flowers in before collapsing the mold. Each luminary features a wooden stand for a tea light candle. They are also able to float on water. Each luminary is custom designed and made by hand, so every one is unique and the final product a customer receives may not look exactly like the product depicted on the website.

Splendid Bee's new website and online store also features:

  • The option to purchase a "Naked Loaf". The "Naked Loaf" features 12 bars of soap in any scents of your choice and 4 muslin pouches for one low price of $58.99. When you build your own "Naked Loaf", you can choose from a wide variety of different scents or opt for an unscented bar option.
  • An Event calendar, so that website visitors and fans can keep up on where to find Splendid Bee at different art events and festivals across the country. The next event where Splendid Bee will be set up is at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 1 and 2, 2017, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Soap Accessories are also available for purchase. The accessories that Splendid Bee offers include muslin pouches to store bars of soap and ceramic soap dishes, hand thrown by Jim Wright in Richmond, KY, that will keep your Splendid Bee bar soap dry without draining onto the underlying surface.
  • An extensive explanation of the ingredients used in Splendid Bee's all-natural, handmade soap bars and soap-filled loofah formula. It took Lisa two years to develop the formula that has been used to make every soap product since 2003.
  • A Contact form is also available on the new Splendid Bee website. Get your questions answered and get additional information from Lisa directly through the website.

  • Splendid Bee handmade soaps, soap-filled loofahs, luminaries, and more are available for purchase online. If you have any questions or comments, you can reach out to Lisa Hagan by using the Contact form on the new Splendid Bee website. Stay up-to-date on Splendid Bee, Lisa's upcoming events, holiday deals and more on Facebook or by following Splendid Bee on Instagram.

    ABOUT SPLENDID BEE
Splendid Bee, owned and operated by Louisville teacher and artist Lisa Hagan, has been in the soap making business for 17 years and counting. After learning a Great Depression-era recipe to make soap from a family member, Lisa took full creative control of her process and after years of research and testing, perfected the Splendid Bee recipe that is still in use today. When Lisa is not creating all-natural, handmade bar soap and soap-filled loofahs, she is designing beeswax luminaries at her studio in Louisville, Kentucky, and working with other local artists on soap accessories.
