Northwood Industries Continues Family Legacy With New Website

Northwood Industries has been serving the people of Wisconsin and Minnesota for over 20 years with a wide variety of custom storage sheds, garages, gazebos, outdoor furniture, and more. Their home office in Hayward, Wisconsin features an outdoor display lot and an indoor furniture and gift store. In recent years, they opened another shed lot and furniture store just north of Minneapolis, Minnesota in order to better serve their growing customer base from the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

Their recent launch of a new website, designed to improve the customer experience, is the latest chapter in the success story of this family-owned and operated business.

A Family Success Story

Elvie Martin, the current owner/manager, was only a young lad of 7 years when his parents moved their family from Lancaster County, PA to Hayward, Wisconsin. "It was a big and exciting move," Elvie recalls. "My parents were in search of a place where they could raise their 6 sons and teach them the value of hard, honest work." This search led Clair and Ruthie Martin to settle their family on a 20-acre homestead. An old barn on the property was soon converted into a shop and from this shop the storage shed company was birthed.

Early days are seldom smooth for a business, and theirs was no exception. The Martin family learned many lessons through trial and error, putting in long hours to make the business a success. In reflecting on those days, Elvie says, "At the time it felt to me like all we did was hard work. But as I look back now I have fond memories of working with my Dad and my brothers. I wouldn't trade the lessons or the memories for anything else in the world." The hard work paid off and the business grew into a thriving company.

In the years since then, Northwood Industries has remained a family-centered business. All 6 of the Martin boys have left their mark on the business at one time or another, helping to shape the business into one of the premier providers of storage sheds and other outdoor structures throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. Many things have changed since their humble beginnings in 1990, but core values remain the same. The Martin family is still dedicated to treating each customer the way they would want to be treated. As they teach their children the value of hard work and integrity in business they continue to pass on the legacy that their parents gave to them.

Continuing the Legacy of Growth and Improvement

Northwood Industries is continually expanding and constantly looking for ways to improve their business. When they decided it was time to improve their online presence, they turned back to their roots in Lancaster, PA and contracted with E-Impact Marketing, for a complete website redesign and ongoing marketing services. The new website was recently launched. The improved experience has drawn in many new customers, with Northwood seeing a significant increase in sales since the launch of the website.

Improvement and growth is in the Martin family blood and the launch of a new website is just another step in their journey. It will not stop there. Already there are plans in place to implement an online store for the sale of the poly outdoor furniture as well as their full line of rustic hickory indoor furniture. Northwood has also been introducing some new storage shed lines, including The Retreat, a deluxe portable cabin with a screened-in, wrap-around porch, perfect for a Northern vacation getaway spot. The future is wide open for Northwood Industries as they continue to combine old-world workmanship with modern materials to offer products that everyone loves at a great price.
