Asiarati (www.asiarati.com) is a newly launched blog ranking site that caters to blogs for, by and of Asians. This site aims to capture the growing number of bloggers in Asia, and provide insight on the diversity of interests in the region.

All bloggers residing in Asia, or of Asian descent, are qualified to submit their blogs to the ranking service.

The site is currently on beta release, which provides the opportunity for early users to be listed at the top of the ranks.

Jason Banico, who operates the site, believes that it is just the right time to launch a service like this. "The blogging phenomenon has gone global for a few years now. Unlike US blogs that are well monitored, we have yet to come up with an A-List for Asian blogs."

The beta will be running for three months as it reaches out to the following territories: Bangladesh, Brunei, Burma, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Blogs from Asian countries not belonging to this list are also welcome to join.

Joining is easy. Users can just click on the join link at the top menu bar, enter the blog details, and it is listed on the site automatically. Blogs are ranked by votes and click throughs from Asiarati. Registered bloggers are encouraged to make mention of Asiarati in their blogs to garner more votes and click throughs.
