The Rasp - New Transportable Engineered Hardwood Floor Sander & Surface Prep Machine

August 22, 2017 - Vancouver, BC - WerkMaster launches The Rasp - The wood flooring industry's first and only professional transportable wood sander and surface prep machine that safely and quickly removes aluminum oxide or UV-cured finishes from engineered hardwood floors. Additionally, it also removes oil or water based stains and finishes from wood floors and decks.

The Rasp's patented technology has been further designed to remove cutback carpet glue, mastics, paints, glue down carpet rubber, and thinset from wood and concrete floors. The Rasp accomplishes all this, while edging to within an 1/8 inch of the wall. An added bonus is the Rasp's ability to flatten high spots on concrete floors reducing the need for self levelling compounds.

The Rasp prototype was introduced at this year's NWFA Conference in Phoenix, Arizona to rave reviews. Conference attendees were surprised and delighted to see how quickly, and efficiently, the Rasp's proprietary S-Seg, diamond impregnated metal bond tools, removed the aluminum oxide coating from an engineered hardwood floor leaving a smooth finish ready for the sanding process. Attendees were invited to test the machine for themselves and were impressed with the ease of use, maneuverability, finished floor results, and edging capabilities. As power availability can be an issue on many jobsites, the Rasp is available in both 110V and 220V configurations. Contractors can now purchase an optional additional Motor/VFD package in a different voltage which can be quickly swapped out to meet their desired electrical requirements on any job.
