Consolidation is increasing and changing the landscape. Home Depot buys Hughes, private equity buys ORS Nasco, Stock Building Supply, BMHC and Lanoga average more than one acquisition a month, WESCO buys Carlton-Bates, WinWholesale acquires Noland, Beacon Roofing Supply makes a couple of acquisitions, Sonepar purchases a few companies, private equity firms are snooping around each industry and these are only some of the highlights. You probably know of a number of companies that were bought or are looking to buy/sell.
