Unique RISK-Style Mobile Game Helps Friends Stay in Touch by Fighting

April 20, 2017 - In a move that will appeal to mobile users who love the board game RISK, Play By Turns Ltd. is introducing a new multiplayer game that is modeled after the classic board game and incorporates strong multiplayer features to keep players engaged.

The game, called Attack Your Friends!, immerses players in intense, two-player battles where players are competing to dominate the world map. "The idea has been to recreate a board game multiplayer experience for mobile device game play," explains Christian Lovstedt, Project Lead at Attack Your Friends! "Anyone who has played RISK as a board game knows how intense the atmosphere can be when struggling to control the map. What sets the game apart is that it is the only strategy multiplayer game on the market designed completely around asynchronous game play, in which players are connected but do not have to play simultaneously. Since Attack Your Friends! is based on taking turns, players send turns between each other and are notified when it is their turn via the mobile device push notification system. "The cool part is players don't have to be online at the same time, and they can play their turns at their own pace," Lovstedt said.

In keeping with the traditional board game concept, players use troop cards and die with Attack Your Friends!. In addition, players get to choose between three climate zones for their setting: Tropical, Desert and Arctic. To gain an edge on the competition, players can also collect Defense cards, adding an additional strategy dimension to the game.
