SOA Strategy and SID Usage Are Driving OSS/BSS Integration in 2006
February 02, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Waltham, MA February 2, 2006 —-More than half ( 58.5%) of ninety telecommunication companies surveyed by Pantero Corporation, a leading provider of semantic integration software for SOAs, are undertaking pilot projects or have major SOA projects underway as 2006 begins.47.7 % of the same companies are running pilot projects or mounting major SID projects. And 26 percent have triple-play or multi-service offerings underway while another 10.2% expect market trials to begin during the first half of 2006.
“These results suggest that there is a growing momentum to physically integrate OSS components and to leverage the SID model to facilitate the integration process, Pano Anthos, CEO of Pantero observed. “Using the SID brings a loosely coupled architecture to life faster, easier and cheaper than other methods and yields an agile, high performance SOA deployment.”
28% of telcos are considering SOA as their approach for OSS/BSS integration and 42.2% are considering using the SID in the process.
“Our soundings in the market confirm the survey data. More and more telecommunications and financial service companies are considering a SID-based approach because it decreases the time-to-value, mitigates risk and provides an easy way to enforce data and semantic consistency across the enterprise.”
The survey was conducted among 100 executives attending a Telemarketing Forum Webinar toward the end of 2005.
