Donny Shimamoto Recognized for Advancing Accounting Technology With Top Thought Leader Honor

March 20, 2017 - Donny Shimamoto was honored by CPA Practice Advisor Magazine as one of the Top 25 Thought Leaders in public accounting at the annual symposium and hall of fame induction ceremony for 2017. The event was held at the Rootworks Learning Center at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis February 26-28th.

The 2017 award is the 6th consecutive year that Mr. Shimamoto has been recognized for his outstanding contribution of moving accounting technology into the future. The 2017 symposium also inducted Doug Sleeter, founder of The Sleeter Group which is now Accountex USA, into the Accounting Hall of Fame.

During the symposium, all 25 honorees participate in roundtable discussions and brainstorming activities with leading technology vendors. The goal is to determine and shape the future of the profession, including evolutions in technology, workflow methods, and firm management. One of the recurring themes at the symposium is evaluation of cloud technology adoption by accounting firms.
