I Choose the Light is the heartwarming collection of poetry by author Mark J. Spanbauer that delves into a vast array of subjects, including the ups and downs in everyday life. After his divorce, which was very painful, Mark started to look at many aspects of life and faith, and one day the poetic stories in this book started coming to him very rapidly.

Hopefully readers will be able to thoroughly reflect on their own lives and faith. If someone is able to change their negative behavior and make better choices in life, or be able to be helped in coping with grief and emptiness of loss, this book will be considered a success.

About the Author:
Mark J. Spanbauer was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was lucky enough to grow up watching the Green Bay Packers football dynasty of the sixties, coached by Vince Lombardi. Like most of the guys in his neighborhood, sports occupied most of his time. In high school, Mark played football, wrestled, and ran track, and he was a member of football and track state championship teams. He played college football and then taught physical education and coached for thirty years.

Mark enjoys his free time by living and walking along the river, working some hours at an athletic club, and fishing and boating.
