Burn Out Syndrom? Discovering A Cure In Marbella
February 01, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Flick through the social pages of any Marbella glossy magazine and you are likely to spot a photo or two of Susi Berman, beaming out from a cocktail party line up. As one of the key employees at Kristina Szekely’s real estate empire, for the past decade Susi has been living the Marbella lifestyle to the full, and partying with the best of them.
But the “work hard, play hard” mantra was taking its toll on her health. “Six months ago I was in a state,” admits Susi. “I had digestive problems, blurred vision, tingling sensations in my hands. I was literally dragging myself out of bed in the mornings. I went to various doctors, and they just didn’t seem to be getting to the root of my problems, and I was given a long list of foods to avoid…
“At one point, I was so run down, I wasn’t making antibodies, and was having hospital strength antibiotics injected every few days. “
Back to Basics with Bodhi
The turning point came when Susi discovered Bodhi - the holistic well-being centre managed by the wonderful Hilary Maclise. A state-of-the-art haven of calm and relaxation, Bodhi is located, ironically, in one of Marbella’s busiest streets.
“It was fantastic to find a place with professionals who could tackle the source of my ailments, and give me the lifestyle advice I needed to retrain my body. “It’s like peeling away the layers of an onion…”
Just the pampering and the sacro-cranial massage made a massive difference, but the miracle cure for Susi started with kinesiology.
For anyone sceptical of natural therapies, this intriguing discipline is sure to melt away your resistance… All you have to do is lie back and let the naturopath test your body’s response to a suitcase full of substances. A simple metal disc is placed on your abdomen, and attached to phials of just about everything on earth - from different foods to cat hair - causing your muscles to react, holding clues to your body’s likes and dislikes. Armed with this information, the naturopath then recommends any necessary changes to your diet, and gives you a handful of homeopathic remedies to coax you gently back to balance. It is stunningly effective, as Susi discovered.
After a few weeks following Bodhi’s advice, she felt like a different person. “I soon found that I could eat foods that had previously disagreed with me, and I was feeling fantastic again, without having to make big changes to my lifestyle.“ And importantly, she could keep up with Kristina again!
