Only the second source of original local Spanish news in the greater Denver Area, The Denver Post has launched The Denver Post al Dia website, http://www.denverpost.com/aldia, to comply with Univision’s TV news broadcast, giving the Spanish speaking population of Denver a source of news they can rely on. Denver Post al Dia will appear seven days a week and will include local, national and world news, weather, sports, entertainment, news from Mexico, Central America and South America, links to newspapers in Mexico, Central America and South America as well as stories, photos and video by the Denver Post.
“We are very excited to make this foray into news and information for the Spanish-speaking audience and to do it through this medium," said Gregory L. Moore, editor of The Denver Post. "The online newspaper gives consumers freedom to choose when they want to get their news." Hispanics are the fastest-growing group in Denver, according to the U.S. Census. The population between 1990 and 2000 grew by 89 percent, triple the growth rate of the general population, and by 2004 more than one in five people in metro Denver was Hispanic.
The Denver Post will also have a web page in English with news from Mexico, Central America and South America. This page will aggregate stories of interest to the Hispanic community, offer news from Mexico, Central America and South America by country, and offer many popular columnists. That page is available at http://www.denverpost.com/latin.
