There was Antony and Cleopatra, Gilbert and Sullivan, Lewis and Clark, Beanie and Cecil, and now there's Garnell and Thompson.

What do all these famous characters have in common? Well, two of them are puppets, and except for Garnell and Thompson, none of them ever did anything over the Internet!

The Garnell - Thomspon team are entrepreneurs who have taken advantage of the Internet to write the popular new ebook: "A Marketing Feast — Cooking Up a Strategic Internet Marketing Plan." (http://www.clydesight.com/CUCMS/) Even though they live a world apart — Cathrine Garnell is from the UK while Tim Thompson is from the USA — thanks to the Internet, the distance is no problem.

They met on a message board discussing their mutual interest, cats. Their cats have become famous on the Internet. Garnell's "Basil" is the hero of the best selling book "Basil, the Bionic Cat" (http://www.bionicbasil.com) and Thompson's "Clyde" is not only the star of the internationally acclaimed ClydeSight2.0!, he has own line of merchandise for cat lovers called "ClydeStuff" (http://www.clydesight.com).

Garnell sent Thompson her book, and Thompson returned with his neoclassical music albums, "Symphonia Felina" and "Forestdale". In their correspondence, the two discussed their marketing experiences and realized that a good, honest book about Internet Marketing would be of benefit to their audiences. They used e-mail and a popular word processor to share files and edits.

"We have different writing styles," says Thompson, "and I feel that Cathrine has a fluid command of the language. My spell checker got very confused more than once with her edits because of the differences between English and American usage!" For her part, Garnell felt Thompson was a technical master. "Tim has wonderful practical side. He came up with activities, which we call "marketing recipes", that impressed me. They are like cookbook recipes for marketers."

They both agreed on the focus of the book. "It's very much a 'how to' book," says Thompson, "because that's what we found lacking in our research and experience. People need to know facts and how to do things, not read rhetoric and false get-rich-quick promises."

Garnell found a similar need, "I met store owners wanted to get into Internet sales, but could not find anything that would take them step by step through the process. Since Tim and I had already done this work, why not lay it out in a simple, entertaining format so others can learn and do likewise?"

The topic is so large that they decided to do a series. Since they were using the cookbook recipe format, they called it: "Cooking Up Customers for Marketing Success."

The first book in the series, "A Marketing Feast" deals with the "Marketing Triangle" and is published by Tim's company, ClydeSight Productions. Its available for immediate download at: http://www.clydesight.com/CUCMS/
