July 16, 2016 - Dr. R. Bruce Cochrane and Tanya Dunlap PhD speak about Easing Maintenance Therapy with Prescription Tray Delivery at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) in September 2016. Their talk, in the Corporate Forum series, reviews published clinical trial data as well as the real-world research results Dr. Cochrane documented with patients in his own office since 2007.For Dr. Cochrane prescription tray delivery into periodontal pockets was a surprise discovery. He initially tried the trays for patients who had exhausted surgical treatment options. The results convinced him to broaden his usage and now, ten years later, Dr. Cochrane relies on prescription trays to help achieve optimal treatment results. He will demonstrate data showing prescription tray delivery augments surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment for immediate and long-term improvements in periodontal health. He also includes a focus on decision making, knowing when surgery is necessary and how to maintain surgical gains. Tanya Dunlap PhD, the research liaison at Perio Protect, will review clinical trial designs and data to clarify the benefits and limitations of prescription tray delivery.
Dr. Cochrane describes the Perio Tray® as "a wonderful product, a tremendous tool to help with non-surgical treatment. The tray delivery also provides the most effective way to run periodontal maintenance. It's absolute biggest benefit is the reduction in bleeding and inflammation."
