Walker Lambe's Rupe Gill Elected to Galloway Ridge Board

July 8, 2016 - Durham, North Carolina – Walker Lambe is proud to announce that one of our distinguished partners, Rupe Gill, has been elected to the Board of Directors for Galloway Ridge. Galloway Ridge is a luxury retirement and assisted living facility in the coveted Fearrington community, which features many amenities such as a special educational ventures with Duke and UNC, stunning residences, and an all-inclusive LifeCare program; the only program of its kind in the area. With over 20 years of legal experience, Rupe Gill has assisted countless clients with their legal needs, primarily in Estate Planning and Elder Law. He will bring his extensive knowledge of the legal field to a phenomenal team of key individuals and continue to educate the community about the devastating legal effects of disability and death.
Rupe is a graduate of Northern Durham High School, a UNC alumnus, and a graduate of Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is proud to have served his country in the US Air Force for 21 years, serving as an Attorney with the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG), and attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Rupe received numerous awards and decorations while in service, including the NATO Medal, the JAG Kuhfeld Award as the best Judge Advocate in Europe, the Field Grade Officer of the Year, and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters. After extensive criminal trial experience, he began focusing on the preparation of estate documents to preserve his clients' hard-earned dollars through crafting and administering plans to provide for their loved ones.
Rupe is the past chair & current board member of the Elder Law & Special Needs Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, and also the president of the North Carolina chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). He is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA), the Durham Bar Association and the North Carolina and Pennsylvania State Bars.
Rupe continues to challenge and educate himself in every new idea and development in the ever-changing area of Elder Law, as well as in Special Needs and VA A&A planning. Through his training, Rupe leads many educational seminars geared at educating members of our community about Estate Planning, Elder Law and VA benefits.
