Harvey Kubernik kicks off summer as the featured guest on ESPN Radio's "The Weekend Warrior" program hosted by Dr. Robert Klapper, M.D.

June 21, 2016- This Saturday, June 25th, at 8:00 am, (PST), music historian and author, Harvey Kubernik will be the feature interview subject on ESPN Radio (710 on your AM dial), as a guest on "The Weekend Warrior" program, hosted by Dr. Robert Klapper, M.D., a leader in minimally invasive surgical technique who holds nine patents on specially designed instruments used in the procedure, and head of orthopedic surgery at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.Kubernik, a Pisces, has a lifelong relationship with surf music and the beach. As a record producer he has done sessions with Corky Carrol, Chris Darrow, Tube Steak, Toulouse Engelhardt and Peter Piper.
Along with surfers Steve Olsen, Jeff Ho and Shaun Tomson, Kubernik was recently filmed for the Christopher Sibley directed documentary on artist John Van Hamersveld, "Crazy World Ain't It, The Life and Times of John Van Hamersveld." John designed the iconic "The Endless Summer" poster image for director/producer Bruce Brown's beach epic.
Kubernik worked with surf film director Hal Jepsen, acclaimed for "A Sea For Yourself" and the Jepsen/Wilt Chamberlain film "Go For It!," and in several ongoing capacities with Dennis Dragon, co-founder of the Surf Punks, and performed live with the Surf Punks at their Santa Monica Civic Auditorium debut in 1978.
He has also interviewed Don Wilson of the Ventures, Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and Mike Love, and is thanked in David Rensin's book on surf legend Miki Dora, "All for a Few Perfect Waves."
Kubernik and Klapper, an avid surfer, will discuss the history of surf music and musical icons like Dick Dale with the listeners on the show that is heard weekly 7-9:00 am in the Los Angeles market, and available on "The Weekend Warrior" website just after broadcast.

The Morrison Hotel Gallery at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood opened an exhibition on June 11th celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Bob Dylan film "Don't Look Back," directed by D.A.
