KTGY GROUP Selected as Architect for Transcan's County Crossings 250-Acre Mixed-Use Project in Antioch, Calif.

IRVINE, CA – Award-winning ktgy group, INC., Architecture and Planning, was selected by Transcan Development, LLC of Alamo, Calif. as the architect for County Crossings, a 250-acre mixed-use development project located in Antioch, Calif. Situated at the intersection of Highways 4 and 160 in Contra Costa County, County Crossings is one of the largest remaining developable sites in the Bay Area offering freeway frontage.

County Crossings is planned to feature approximately 1,200,000 square feet of retail, 250,000 square feet of office, a transit oriented residential village, and a proposed Light Rail BART Station, which will sit at the nexus of the project. The retail component will include large anchor tenants and major retailers, specialty shops, restaurants and cafes plus a neighborhood component.

County Crossings is expected to serve the needs of this rapidly growing region in Contra Costa County which on average sees over 82,000 cars passing the site daily. Currently, there are 275,650 people that live within 10 miles of the site. Known as the oldest city in California, Antioch is also the central point linking San Francisco and the East Bay to Sacramento and the Central Valley.

Earlier this year KTGY launched a full-service retail/mixed-use studio headed up by Lyon and Albert Croft, AIA, who brings 30-years of design experience. The team offers particular expertise in main street/lifestyle destinations, multi-level urban retail centers, entertainment/leisure, renovations/expansions, retailers/operators, and value centers.

The shopping center, which is presently in the planning stages, is currently estimated to break ground in 2007 and open mid to late 2008.
