Abner King and his oldest son Ivan founded the shed manufacturing division of Lancaster County Backyard called Pequea Storage Sheds in 1978. They started out primarily as a portable storage shed manufacturer. In 1987 they added backyard gazebos for sale from their PA gazebo manufacturing facility. In 2006 two of the sons of Abner, stepped into leadership. The same year a fire destroyed the shed and gazebo facility. Following the loss, the company rebuilt a bigger and better manufacturing facility. With this expansion came an expansion in their lines of products. Two years after the fire, in 2008, pergolas and pavilions were added to the already existing line of outdoor gazebos and sheds. Since then this company has been growing and expanding.

With the new website, Lancaster County Backyard is pushing its line of backyard gazebos in a fresh way. From a small 8x8 gazebo to a 28x28 gazebo or larger, this line of gazebos is made for a broad range of customers.
