Law School student honored with Stephens, Anderson & Cummings Scholarship for Academic Excellence

FORT WORTH, TX - Stephens, Anderson & Cummings recently awarded Abbey Coufal with their Scholarship for Academic Excellence, which recognizes an exceptional individual currently enrolled in a university within the State of Texas.

Coufal, the 23-year-old daughter of Charles and Cindy Coufal of Vernon, Texas, is currently pursuing a law degree at Texas Tech University School of Law. She hopes to graduate in May of 2018, and to pursue a career in the legal field.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from West Texas A&M University in December 2014, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA. She also was a member of several honor societies and organizations, and was a member of the WTAMU President's List throughout her studies.

Students vying for the Scholarship of Academic Excellence submitted a 500 to 1,500 word essay describing how their childhood experiences influenced their decision to continue their education, as well as recommendation letters from various members of their communities.
