Henderson Properties Participated in Annual Food Drive

December 22, 20155 - Henderson Properties continued its tradition of supporting the needs of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina through its annual food drive.

Each year, Henderson Properties provides special collection bags to the residents in several of the communities that the company manages. By encouraging the general public to participate and making it even easier for certain community members to contribute to the food drive, donations collected through Henderson Properties for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina have been plentiful over the years. The communities that participated this year included:

Polo Club at Mountain Island Lake

The ultimate goal of this food drive is to gather as much non-perishable food and other essential grocery products as possible. Some of the items collected include pasta, soups, cereals, peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruits, diapers, personal hygiene items, paper products and cleaning supplies.

The Henderson Properties food drive typically accumulates around 1,500 lbs. of food and other items, making a significant contribution towards helping the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina serve families and individuals throughout the region. This year, over 2,000 lbs of items were donated. Many of these donations will also go to charitable organizations like soup kitchens, low-income daycares, emergency shelters and emergency pantries.
