Entire Sterling Heights Dental Office Begins Fundraising for Charity 5K

December 1, 2015 - Sterling Heights, MI – The team at Family Dentistry of Sterling Heights is proud to launch its fundraising campaign for the upcoming Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5k with the American Brain Tumor Association. Held annually at Kensington Park in Milford, MI, this will be the second year the Family Dentistry team participated. Last year, the entire Family Dentistry staff, friends and family joined together to raise about $10,000 for the organization.

According to the American Brain Tumor Association, more than 700,000 individuals in the U.S. live with a brain tumor. Through this 5k charity event, funds are raised to support brain tumor research as well as provide patients with resources and support through this difficult diagnosis. Races are held throughout the country at various times during the year, with over 9 cities hosting their own Breakthrough for Brain Tumors events.

The Association has special meaning for the Sterling Heights Family Dentistry team – in 2014, Dr. Van Eaton lost his son to the disease. It is in his honor that the dental team will continue to participate in the walk again in May 2016.
