January 24, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
MangoSearch.com is the brainchild of its Chief Developer, Peter Tan who is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Virtual Office Singapore, a business services division of Pacific Centennial Group."MangoSearch has been evolving from a site that suppose to be a business directory, to a portal of Yahoo! Chat-like chatroom, to a Monster-like HR site, to a Yahoo-like search portal and finally back to a business directory."
"MangoSearch is free business directory targeted at Singapore companies. Like other online directories, its searchable and display profiles of the selected companies. Unlike other online directories, MangoSearch adopts Google's simplicity, Wikipedia's concept and DMOZ's openess into its development. All listings will be verified by a group of editors to ensure that the listings is credible and suitable."
"Since inception a few days back, we have a good response from our clients and some of them have called us to understand more about MangoSearch. Their valuable feedbacks were appreciated and we will be including new features to enhance the users experience."
"Although MangoSearch will be a free website, it has placed Google Adsense to help in its fund raising and all revenues will be invested back into its advertising, upgrading of server hosting and its ability to remain free."
"MangoSearch aims to have at least 10,000 companies listed in its database, and in the near future will include new features of allowing companies to edit its profile and ability to be displayed in PDA or mobile phones."
"In all, we hope that the free MangoSearch will be an alternative against Singapore's Yellow Pages, e-Guide and Green Book." Peter explains.
MangoSearch will be giving away $20 Starbucks Vouchers to 5 lucky listers on Valentine's Day.
