McKool Smith Names Three New Principals

(DALLAS) – The Dallas law firm of McKool Smith has named three firm associates as principals in the firm’s Dallas and Austin offices. Kevin Burgess and Michael S. Perez practice in the firm’s Austin office, and David Sochia practices in Dallas.“These three attorneys have consistently demonstrated exceptional legal abilities,” says firm founder Mike McKool Jr. “As a result of their hard work and persistence, we are glad to name Kevin, Michael and David as principals in the firm.”
Mr. Burgess graduated summa cum laude of the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. He practices in all phases of commercial litigation, particularly in complex cases focusing on patent infringement litigation. Mr. Burgess is a former judicial clerk for the Honorable William C. Bryson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Perez earned his law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997. He handles commercial litigation for clients with a special focus on complex technical matters involving patent infringement litigation.
Mr. Sochia earned his law degree in 1996 from Tulane University Law School. He handles complex commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Sochia is a former judicial extern for Judge William H. Byrnes III of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.
