July 14, 2015 - Here's the scoop: The Adventure Park at Heritage Museums & Gardens will celebrate National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 19, 2015, by offering vouchers for free, specially made ice cream sandwiches to climbers purchasing tickets between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The vouchers may be redeemed at The Adventure Park until 4:00 PM on the 19th. Limited quantities available, one voucher per climber, first-come, first-served, while they last. The ice cream sandwiches, created by Sandwich-based ice cream experts, Ray Upton and Jo-Ann Branzetti of Ice Cream Sandwich, feature a new flavor specially created just for The Adventure Park at Heritage called "Tree Top Tweezle." The name honors the Tweezle climbing device that all climbers use at the park that keeps them connected to a safety cable throughout their time in the trees. Tree Top Tweezle includes almond-flavored ice cream, cranberries, and white and dark chocolate chips, all sandwiched between two cranberry cookies.
"What a tasty experience!" said Adventure Park Manager, Pam Salokangas, all smiles. "We are so happy we were able to work Ray and Jo-Ann to offer a new ice cream sandwich flavor made especially for our climbers.
For those not climbing, Tree Top Tweezle ice cream sandwiches will be available for purchase at $6 each. Plain vanilla ice cream sandwiches will be for sale as well.
The Adventure Park's regular climbing hours will be in effect, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, with last full-climb tickets available at 3:30 PM. Discounted "Last Call" tickets are available at 4:00 PM at $31/person, all ages, for up to a two-hour experience, depending on starting time.
Spend the day at Heritage! Combo tickets that include reduced admission to The Adventure Park at Heritage PLUS access to Heritage's gardens and museum exhibits are also available for the following prices: Ages 12+: $53; Ages 10-11: $43; Ages 7-9: $38.
