Adrienne Davis offers a new web-based review service for home-based business owners, to help them choose the best route to make a living from home. Aiming to cut through the jungle of information available, and avoid the mantraps, this full-time internet marketer will tell it like it is, to help others make those crucial decisions. She will share her experience of direct sales & marketing, business, HR and Employment Law with her community. Adrienne Davis, a 49-year old divorcee, has been working from home for one year since leaving her job as Corporate Training manager in local government. “When I left the council I expected to carry on delivering freelance training courses, but this wasn’t firing me up as much as before. I have always wanted my own business and decided to look at the opportunities for working from home.” She found her systematic mind frustrated at constantly finding new alternatives and saw how hard it is to stay focused. With a corporate background, Adrienne felt she should be able to manage all the tasks “I train others in managing their time, and I was finding it difficult to manage my own”.
Eventually Adrienne decided to use the benefit of all the research she had collected, to share with others on a new site, homebusinessadvisers. Visitors will be able to sign up for a regular newsletter with valuable advice on the nuts and bolts of an internet business, such as email marketing. “I organised huge advertising campaigns using TV, radio and direct mail in the 1990s, and I could see that those techniques are now highly relevant to the new e-marketplace” she said. “For example, the long copy sales letter which used to pop through the letterbox in the hallway now appears in the email Inbox.” There are reviews of business opportunities on the site, for which readers can sign up. Most involve no outlay, while others have money-back guarantees.
New to the site is a section on paid autosurf programs. Adrienne is excited about the programs’ potential as they are one of the few ways ordinary folk can earn extra money without taking high risks. By diversifying over a few of these programs and limiting the investment at first, initial investments can be recouped quickly. The site contains write-ups of successful programs plus links to independent review sites.
Work on the site began in December and it is live today. Is Friday the 13th a deliberate choice? “It wasn’t a conscious target date, things just finally reached a stage where I felt ready to go public”
Although the site owner lives in London, most of the opportunities are global, which is one of the strongest drivers behind the decision to start a web-based business. Adrienne Davis feels the internet is reaching a new maturity, with a future for niche sites like homebusinessadvisers, offering quality personal service.
Adrienne Davis has looked at the business models available, and taken the best from each of them. She also has two active blogs, one on Home Business for this site, and one discussing staffing problems, drawing on her experience in handling staff difficulties. She says workplaces can be a battlefield and managers often can’t get good advice quickly, so the blog is a place to do this. “They are sometimes faced with crises and HR people who haven’t got the courage to back them in taking tough decisions.”
