Spill Clean Up Experts To Exhibit At Santa Barbara Earth Day
April 15, 2015 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
April 15, 2015, Santa Barbara CA: In 1969, a massive oil spill from an oil platform off Santa Barbara's coast wreaked havoc on wildlife and the local eco-system. The resulting swell of outrage gave rise to the creation of the Community Environmental Council (CEC), which organized the first Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival to raise environmental awareness. Spill clean-up experts, Monarch Green, will be exhibiting at this year's Festival to educate consumers about how far oil spill technology has come since 1969, and present its line of eco-conscious universal absorbent products for home and hobby use.Now celebrating its 45th year, the 2015 Earth Day Festival takes place on Saturday, April 18, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 19, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Alameda Park in Santa Barbara. Admission is free. Monarch Green, a cutting edge, environmentally advanced organization, will present its line of eco-friendly emergency spill kits in Booth # 342.
Monarch Green is known for its line of Oilinator® and Incredisorb® technologies. Products from Monarch Green were recognized by the EPA as an environmentally safe sorbent for use in containing the more recent BP Gulf Oil Spill. Lessons learned from the company's industrial applications are now being adapted for home and hobby use.
"Consumers are more aware of the environmental damage that can be inflicted by everyday products," commented Monarch Green's chairman, CEO, and co-founder, Thomas R. Rossi. "Whether it's a brake fluid leak or a spilled can of paint, they are demanding products that can clean up difficult spills in an eco-conscious manner without harming their property. We're thrilled to have the opportunity to meet people at the Festival and explain how our products can help them be more eco-conscious around the home."
This community-organized festival is one of the longest-running and consistently held Earth Day celebrations in the country. In 2014 the Festival drew over 37,000 visitors. This year's event will be broken into zones, each created around a specific theme, including a green car show and a homegrown roots zone that promotes sustainable local agriculture. In addition, there will be two full days of live music performances, speakers, and family programming, an Eat Local Dinner, and the presentation of an Environmental Hero Award.
Monarch Green will demonstrate products from its universal absorbent line, as well as its latest product, the Pool & Spa Saver Mouse, which removes oil, suntan and sunscreen lotion from swimming pool water. Emergency spill kits provide a spill containment solution to contain and absorb oil and water-based spills around the home such as paint, radiator coolant, finger nail polish, hobby materials, household cleaners, transmission and brake fluids, gasoline, diesel fuel, wine, bleach and RV leaks. The Universal Absorbent line includes the Oilinator® Cel-Fiber™ Universal Special Absorbent® 100 Gallon Capacity Bale and Oilinator® Super Sorbent Universal emergency spill kits with a 5, 6.5, 30 or 55 gallon capacity.
