CM YSR Reddy Opens GITEX India: Show Busy With 95 Exhibitors up 16%

GITEX India was inaugurated by Honourable Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy in the presence senior officials from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and organisers Dubai World Trade Centre at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Madhapur yesterday (11th January)."We are confident that GITEX India will generate a seamless flow of business transactions and create potential business opportunities initiatives and will positively help participating exhibitors," said Dr. Reddy speaking to reporters at the venue.
Many of the exhibitors had the opportunity to meet and interact with the CM Dr. Reddy who took time to visit independent stalls and spoke to exhibitors at the venue. "GITEX India has grown from strength to strength and established itself as a premier exhibition," Dr. Reddy said.
"GITEX India has registered an increase in floor space of 16% to cover a nett area of 1,509 square metres with 95 exhibitors participating this year," said Christina Nicholson, DWTC, General Manager.
The show has attracted trade visitors and delegates in large numbers from China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, USA and Taiwan, Ms. Nicholson added.
IT majors including Microsoft, BenQ, Eurostar Communications, HangZhou TodayTec Digital Co LTd, Synergix Inc. USA, Zen Technologies, Dubai Internet City, M.A. Labs, ADP India, Satyam Computer Services Ltd, Infotech Enterprises Limited, Zoom Technologies and RAM Informatics Limited among others are participating at GITEX India.
The large participation of overseas companies verifies AP's unique global comparative advantage as fast emerging base for the information technology industry.
A wide spectrum of the participating companies at GITEX India includes software developers, hardware manufacturers, solutions providers, telecom equipment manufacturers and hardware and software vendors.
Along with the main event, Shopper India, the retail arm of GITEX India, is being held simultaneously in a dedicated hall at the HITEX International Exhibition Centre wherein 47 exhibitors are displaying their merchandise.
GITEX India Shopper hosts leading local and regional vendors offering some of the best deals on computer hardware, software, peripherals, multimedia and a wide range of computer products and services and buyers can avail a 4% refund on VAT on all purchases made during the show. GITEX Shopper 2005 generated retail sales of more than Rs three crores.
Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a major destination for innovative technologies, offshore services and widely recognized as the back office to the world.
