DETROIT, MI - Troupe21 & Associates announced today the details of the 6th Annual Player Networking Event at Super Bowl XL in Detroit. The Player Networking Event™, a sanctioned NFL event, brings active and former NFL players, team and league executives and corporations together for the purpose of business networking. Organizations interested in targeting former and current athletes as future employees and players interested in career development and transition assistance are invited to attend this exclusive event, which will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 from 3-6 p.m. at Robert Porcher’s (former Detroit Lions) restaurant, Seldom Blues.

The only player networking event sanctioned by the NFL, this structured networking happy hour is designed for approximately 100 players and 100 plus corporations. The event facilitates (1) athlete-to-athlete and athlete-to- business relationships; (2) exposure for organizations in place to help players with career transition; (3) recruiting opportunities for corporations targeting athletes as future employees; (4) and recruitment of companies interested in participating in the NFL Retired Players Association Career Fair in June.

To date, executives from over 20 Fortune 500 companies have confirmed attendance. Event sponsors include American Home Mortgage, OverTime (OT) Magazine and Choice Hotels. The Professional Business & Financial Network (PBFN), Athletes 2 Business, Pro Game Consultants and the NFL Players Association serve as strategic alliances.

“The Super Bowl is the world’s greatest sporting event, but it’s an even better place to network, especially for current and former players,” states former NFL player and current publisher of OT Magazine, Ryan McNeil. “The Player Networking Event makes it easy to network, do a deal or find a job in a casual environment.”

Several active and former NFL players looking for job and business opportunities and players with thriving businesses will be in attendance. Examples include McNeil (former Detroit Lion), Porcher, and former NFL star Billy “Whiteshoes” Johnson (current Director of Player Development with the Atlanta Falcons). Former NFL player, Spencer Tillman, who currently works as a broadcaster for CBS Sports, will be on-site promoting his new book, “Scoring in the Red Zone: How to Lead Successfully when the Pressure is On.” Nationally-syndicated radio show hosts and entrepreneurial experts, Jeff and Rich Sloan of StartupNation, will help lead the networking exercise and promote their book, “StartupNation: Open for Business.”
