Scotty Gunther has resigned his position as afternoon personality at 96.1 KISS to conduct a promotional tour to support his new book, "Scotty Says…Why Do People…?: Understand Yourself By Understanding Others", prior to the launch of his new national radio show in the 2nd quarter of 2006. An impressive list of affiliates have already confirmed.
Gunther had appeared on WKST for the past two years. During this time, he centered his program on his listeners’ lives. His ethical program cut through to his audience, ranging from pre-teen to middle age. Dubbed the “male Oprah” for his unique way of giving advice, Gunther has earned a reputation for being an authority on positive living. “In a time where most people are dirty, the best way to stand out is to provide clean, positive entertainment,” Gunther said.
Winner of the AIR (Achievement in Radio) Award for best afternoon personality for the past two years and the best new personality last year, Gunther is expanding his award-winning message to hit more listeners. "Pittsburgh has been great to me. I look forward to talking to more girls on the radio and on my book tour both in Pittsburgh and beyond."
