January 17, 2017 - "Struggle with Encouragement," a new book by Maree Helen Wade, has been released by RoseDog Books.Maree Helen Wade was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma at the age of nineteen. It was believed at the time that this meant a prognosis of two weeks to live. However, Maree never accepted this. She battled on for three years.
One of Maree's dearest wishes was that she marry the love of her life, Jonathan. At one stage it was believed that this may have to take place in a Brisbane hospital as she was so ill. Maree had a strong belief in Jesus Christ; this faith and her willpower saw her come home to walk down the aisle at her Church in Hervey Bay QLD. Maree's wedding made news in the local paper and it was said Hervey Bay came together like it never had before.
In this book, Maree writes not only about her own faith, challenges, conflict, courage and feelings, but the conflicts and feelings of those around her as they also walked down this road with her. Parts of this book are an honest and open vision into her journey through the illness and her faith in Jesus Christ, and other parts are poems that she wrote connected to her feelings, challenges, and her courage throughout the journey.
Those who have read the book have found it a great read. Maree wrote this book with the hope of helping, inspiring, and encouraging others who may be experiencing an illness or know someone who may be experiencing struggles in their lives.
Maree passed away on the 16th of January, 2008.
