December 20, 2014 - OCALA, FL — AutoMax is turning up the Holiday Spirit with the display of an entire miniature Christmas Village inside their auto showroom. In the Christmas village you can find almost anything, from rural to suburban living, industrial factories, a fire and a police station, a candy land, local shops, Big Al's Rag Top Garage. The biggest feature in the town is an 1,800-square-foot model of an old Sacramento railroad, which runs through the entire town.
The village, which is owned and maintained by Ray and Marie Oakley, represents more than seven years' work. Ray said it took them over 48 hours to setup the entire display, and that they are delighted their Christmas Village can bring such joy and amusement to the community. "It was a lot of work, but worth it just to see the smiles on everyone's faces," he said.
His favorite part of the Christmas Village is the harbor, which includes a Currier and Ives in the scene. Santa will also be at AutoMax this year on December 19th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on the 20th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Twenty children under twelve will have the chance to have their picture taken with Santa, who will also be handing out presents.
AutoMax is located at 1918 SW 17th St. in Ocala, Florida. For more information, call (352) 401-0808.
