December 20, 2014 - The nation's first native mobile app development company dedicated to the automotive industry celebrates its 5th year in business this month. They released their first app (DealerApp 1.0) in the iTunes app stores in December of 2009 when Apple had a little over 500 million apps available in the iTunes app store and over 1 billion downloads. In 2010 they added a Blackberry and Android version and released DealerApp 2.0. In 2013 they added a Windows version. In 2014 they released - DealerApp 3.0, the most powerful and customizable version yet. It includes several integrations and the most talked about feature VSM – Virtual Service Manager. This optional service includes a robust chat system between service advisor and customer; the ability to track vehicle repair process; the ability to see pictures or video of repairs and the ability to pay for service.
Currently over 500 dealers nationwide use DealerApp to attract, retain and sell to more customers. With well over 1 million downloads the company projects to double in sales, release new engaging features and integrations and branch out into other dealer markets. Their advanced Push Notification system that includes Geo Fencing is helping hundreds of dealers communicate more efficiently with their customers with broader reach and improved call to action and faster response time.
Dealers in other countries such as Canada, Australia, Dubai and UK also use DealerApp. The company plans on expanding services to more countries as well as other languages such as Spanish and French. Local Notifications will allow dealers to remind customers of service appointments, registration pickup, end of lease or retail reminder, insurance or warranty expiration reminder and more.
According to recent stats, the number of apps available for download is over 2.8million (Apple – 1.2million and Google Play 1.3million). The number of cumulative downloads is over 165 billion (Apple – 85 billion Google 80 billion). This is according to www.statista.com/statistics/276623/number-of-apps-available-in-leading-app-stores.
