BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti to Speak to the Adcraft Club of Detroit in November

Detroit, Oct. 15, 2014 – The Adcraft Club of Detroit, Metro Detroit's association for advertising and marketing communications professionals, will host a luncheon featuring BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at The Reserve at 325 S. Eton in Birmingham. Peretti will discuss how he launched the media company as an experimental lab focused on tracking viral content and making things people wanted to share."We're proud to continually offer our members access to some of the world's leading thinkers and doers," Adcraft President and Senior Vice President, Head of Digital for Carat Phil Rzepka said. "BuzzFeed has made significant contributions to how people create, share and consume media, and we're looking forward to learning from Jonah."
Peretti founded BuzzFeed in 2006. Under his leadership, the company has grown to more than 600 people worldwide, 150 million monthly unique visitors with editors creating shareable entertaining lists and reporters covering everything from politics to long-form features and international news. BuzzFeed has also pioneered social content marketing to build shareable campaigns for the world's leading brands.
Before BuzzFeed, Peretti experimented with viral projects and studied how information and ideas spread through the web. Peretti is a graduate of the MIT Media Lab and has taught at New York University and Parsons The New School for Design.
Adcraft hosts speakers as part of its mission to support its members expand their industry knowledge and advance their careers.
