New York Times best-selling fiction author Connie Briscoe was born with a mild hearing loss that deteriorated rapidly when she became an adult until she was nearly deaf. That didn't stop her from going on to become a best-selling author, and she now has five novels published and a nonfiction photo-essay book soon to be released by Time Warner Books.

On a new website designed to help others cope with a hearing loss, Briscoe talks freely about her own struggles and provides information on hearing loss, hearing aids, and cochlear implants.

"It's my hope that with this website I can ease the transition into living a life with hearing loss for the thousands of others who will have to face this," said Briscoe. "You can live a very good life with a hearing loss given the right resources, and I hope to help guide others so that they don't have to go through some of what I did."

Briscoe plans to update the website with inspirational articles from other successful people with hearing losses. The website can be found at www.hearinginformer.com
