Rare Experimental Cadillac Concept to Debut at Flordia's Gold Coast Car Event

FT. LAUDERDALE - Florida (January 4, 2006) – Like an annual pilgrimage, over 20,000 classic car collectors and enthusiasts are expected to converge over this three-day weekend event to bid on a rare and elegant Cadillac concept car and over 400 exceptional sports cars, hot rods, classic cruisers and muscle cars.

The Boca Raton Collector Car Auction will be held at the prestigious Royal Palm Polo Grounds in Boca Raton, Florida, February 10, 11 & 12, 2006. “This event has been growing over the last four years and it continues to offer cars you won’t find anywhere else” says Donnie Gould, of RM Classic Cars and a 30-year veteran of the business.

Leading the pack at RM’s Boca Raton event is one of the world’s rarest and most significant concept vehicles – The elegant 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Experimental Motorama Town Car. This fully restored, one-of-a-kind show car represents the pinnacle of 1950's design, elegance and luxury. Experimental Model #XP-48 as it was known, was the featured star of the General Motors' 1956 Motorama "Highway of Tomorrow" show at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, and was also exhibited at the famous Paris Exhibition.

The interior is beautifully trimmed with black Moroccan leather in the chauffeur’s compartment and beige broadcloth in the passenger’s compartment following a 'biscuit and button' design that is complemented by an abundance of gold hardware. Ordered to be destroyed by Cadillac following its exhibition, the employees of the wrecking yard simply did not have the heart to crush such a beautiful car and tucked it away in a hidden corner of the junkyard to be forgotten.

Discovered in the wrecking yard in the 1980's, this miraculous find was given a complete restoration. Now returned to its original show quality this Eldorado Brougham Experimental Town Car offers bidders an opportunity to own a unique and irreplaceable piece of automotive history.

Also offered at the sale is possibly the rarest and most desirable GTO in the world – a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram-Air IV Convertible. The GTO was originally introduced in 1964 by John deLorean, and recognized as the world’s first muscle car. There were a total of 3,615 GTO convertibles produced in 1970. Of this there were only 13 built with the Ram Air IV option, Pontiac's pinnacle of performance producing 370 (under rated) hp@5,500 rpm's. Pontiac's most recognizable cosmetic option was GTO's "THE JUDGE" option that included a rear spoiler, blacked out grille and special graphics. The total production of "Judge" convertibles in 1970 amounted to only 168 units. Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) has no way to determine exactly how many convertibles received both the "JUDGE" and the Ram Air IV options but it is rumored to be only three, and of those this car is the only black Ram-Air IV 1970 Judge convertible ever built. Truly a centerpiece investment to any collection.

Other exciting classics at the Boca Raton event include:
· 1971 Mercedes 280 SEL – Owned by the king, Elvis Presley. An original, low mileage car with the initials on the doors “EP”. Used many for a daily driver the car is in exceptional condition and complete with documentation.
· 1953 Muntz Jet Convertible - A national first prize winning car that remains in excellent cosmetic order and mechanical condition. This exceedingly rare Muntz Jet features an innovative, removable fiberglass hard top.
· 1967 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 Convertible - A ground up restoration has elevated this car to national prize winning standards.
· 1968 Shelby GT500 KR Convertible - This very collectible Shelby has benefited from a complete restoration. Finished in its original Acapulco blue color with a black bucket interior and white convertible top, this R-Code car is powered by a 428 Cobra Jet engine and C-6 automatic transmission. Fully documented including a Marti-Report and documents from Carroll Shelby Enterprises stating this car was Carroll’s own car.
