Mac Reed to craft an emotional tale supported by research and passion.

J. Mac Reed is a veteran teacher of literature and writing with a Master's Degree from Indiana University. This is Reed's first published book, although he has been writing his whole life. Reed's professional curriculum writing for education led him to develop a complete Common Core Curriculum study guide for Kindergarten to Fifth Grade to accompany "Sea of Echoes" which follows the specific standards of the Common Core Curriculum adopted in forty-three states in the U.S.
"'Sea of Echoes' was a true collaboration with Jeff which grew from a passion for the ocean and the endangered Fin whales," said Briggs-Greenberg. "Our research uncovered the sophisticated cognitive abilities of whales, and their indispensable contribution to our eco-system." Continued Briggs-Greenberg: "I am thankful to Rick Rinehart and the entire Rowman & Littlefield/Taylor Trade team, and I am thankful to my entire team on this book.
"When I first saw Ruthie's paintings, it made me envision a collaboration with her which would be a return to those beautiful Victorian storybooks where the book itself is a work art," said Reed. "Elementary teachers can use this Common Core Curriculum study guide to teach students about literature, writing and speaking and listening skills through the story of Finn, Cea and the other orphan whales." Continued Reed: "I'm thankful to Rowman & Littlefield/Taylor Trade Publishing and to agent Melissa McComas for sourcing this deal."
