First Transit Is Awarded Escambia County Paratransit Contract

August 5, 2014 - CINCINNATI, OHIO – First Transit announces that Escambia County, Florida has contracted with the company to provide paratransit services. This newly awarded contract is for three years. First Transit, which currently manages the Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) fixed-route services, will begin managing the paratransit services July 1, 2014. ECAT's paratransit services are designed, in accordance with ADA guidelines, specifically for individuals whose disabilities make it difficult for them to use ECAT fixed-route services. ADA accessible vehicles are available for all ADA eligible riders traveling within the ECAT service area. These are curb-to-curb services; and, based upon need and request, can also be door-to-door.
