Chicago Dentist Joins Local Sleep Program

Ira L. Shapira, D.D.S., F.I.C.C.M.O., principal of Delany Dental Care, Ltd., Chicago, Illinois, has joined the Sleep and Behavior Medicine Institute as Director of the Dental Sleep Medicine Program and a member of the Advisory Board of a Sleep Medicine Center of Excellence. The Sleep and Behavior Sleep Medicine Institute is fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The Dental Sleep Medicine program is a most important clinical and educational aspect of the Institute. Dr. Shapira’s leadership will enhance the spectrum and quality of services provided to the patients.Dr. Shapira is a former Assistant Professor at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical School’s Sleep Disorder Clinic where he treated patients with sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. He is a diplomat of the Academy of Pain Management and a Fellow and former International Regent of the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics. A member of the Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, Dr. Shapira has lectured nationally at the Anti-Aging Medicine’s Annual Conferences. He is a member of The American Equilibration Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society and the Lake County Dental Society’s Waukegan Dental Study Club.
