‘Treasured moments’ the focus of Mexico’s newest luxury hospitality brand

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MANZANILLO, Mexico (Dec. 19, 2005) – A trio of hidden treasures will be unveiled along Mexico’s Pacific Coast with the 2006 launch of Tesoro Resorts, an exciting new resort brand that aims to take all-inclusive vacations to new heights.
The new Tesoro Resorts brand is designed to provide discerning leisure travelers with incredible value and spectacular settings to enjoy the most treasured moments in life: time spent with family, friends and loved ones. The Tesoro motif of inlayed emerald, sapphire and amber gemstones reflects Tesoro’s three flagship resorts – the diamonds in the rough – that span Mexico’s most unique Pacific Coast destinations.
Tesoro Los Cabos sits amid the action of Cabo San Lucas marina with 286 rooms and suites, and abundant outdoor pursuits on the area links, in and on the ocean, and through dusty desert trails. Tesoro Manzanillo’s 331-room property rises above a historic beach in a picturesque cove that is ideal for snorkeling, boating, kayaking and jet skiing. And further down the Pacific Coast the golden sands and sparkling sea create a fitting safe harbor for Tesoro Ixtapa’s gleaming 170-room hideaway. Each of the relaunched Tesoro resorts excel at high-end all-inclusive concepts that pamper kids and adults alike with tropical gardens, serene swimming pools, spacious accommodations, wide selections of buffet-style and a la carte sit down restaurants, dazzling evening entertainment, kids club diversions for children and sumptuous spa menus for adults.
Tesoro Resorts is a division of Steadfast Resorts International (SRI), a Newport Beach-California based group seeking to acquire properties in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America that still show some promise, then renovate and relaunch them under a dynamic SRI hospitality brand. Tesoro Resorts is their first Mexican all-inclusive brand.
SRI industry veterans leading the way are President Luis Garcia, who graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Diego and spent nearly two decades at KPMG in Mexico City, and Vice President Operations, Wayne Merritt, who brings more than 18 years of executive-level hospitality experience in properties including Hilton, Radisson, and Doubletree brands from Las Vegas to Colorado.
“The idea of Tesoro Resorts is to provide the magical settings for people to remember what vacations are about, spending quality time together and creating wonderful memories,” explains sales and marketing vice president Gabriel Igartua, a hotelier and onetime Puerto Vallarta tourism board president with more than 30 years of experience.
The name of the brand, meaning “treasure” in Spanish, reflects this emphasis on emotional connections and the preciousness of fleeting moments in time. Says Garcia: “Creating meaningful, lasting memories is the mark of excellence that will distinguish Tesoro Resorts from other brands.”
