North Hollywood, CA – North Hollywood Toyota, a large new and used car dealership in Los Angeles, will roll out the fully-redesigned 2014 Highlander mid-February. The revamped 2014 model marks the third generation of Toyota's popular midsize SUV. This redesigned mid-size SUV comes well-equipped for southern California roads with its 8-passenger capacity, extensive safety features and tech savvy extras. With the new generation comes a freshly chiseled body, increased interior capacity, updated safety and tech features, and a smooth ride. In response to customer focus groups, Toyota put a "sleek and strong" spin on the 2014 Highlander exterior. Forbes reviewer Matthew de Paula details the new, more masculine body vividly: "It has a huge front grille, angry-looking headlights and wide, beefy fenders." Not just about looks, the redesign features a lowered roofline for aerodynamic and fuel-efficiency benefit. The new exterior will be available in nine color options at all Los Angeles Toyota dealers.
When the update hits Los Angeles Toyota Dealerships, test-driving customers will find that the changes are more than sheet metal deep. Minor dimension tweaks give the interior a practical, family-friendly boost. An addition of three inches to the length maintains the 2014 Highlander's midsize status, while allowing 83.7 cubic feet of cargo space — a 34% increase. Other storage spots include an in-dash shelf and roomy center console, ideal for a large handbag. Plus, the standard third row now accommodates three passengers upping the total capacity to eight people. De Paula describes the new backseat experience, "I could actually fit back there relatively comfortably, and I'm 6 feet tall."
Another family-friendly focus of the 2014 Highlander: the comprehensive safety features, starting with eight standard airbags and Toyota's Star Safety System. Available upgrades from Toyota dealers in Southern California include a Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The interior is also home to Entune™ Audio, backup camera and Bluetooth connectivity. A thicker windshield and increased floor insulation deliver a quieter cabin. For extra value, all 2014 Highlanders are backed by ToyotaCare, which provides a scheduled maintenance plan at zero cost.
As for the handling, the 2014 Highlander offers a smooth, sportier drive. All models come equipped with 6-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). The EPA awards the front wheel drive models 19 miles per gallon in the city and 25 on the highway, while all-wheel drive achieves 18 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway.
